About Me

I’m a PhD candidate at the University of Michigan School of Information. My research primarily focuses on digital preservation and eScience data curation. Currently, I’m conducting research for my dissertation, Data Stewardship in the Practice of Science: Scientists’ Conceptions of Data’s Continuing Value. Specifically, I’m investigating how scientists, as crucial decision makers in the long-term viability of the data they produce, conceive of the continuing value of their data and how these conceptions connect to their specific data stewardship practices. Using a qualitative multi-case study design, I aim to understand what continuing value means to scientists, the contextual factors at play as they assess continuing value, and the specific data management choices that they make as a result.
